Arrival

Hi

This is Vincent again. We arrived safely at Caracas without mine, Stanley and Dr Wan's luggage. At first it seemed like a good idea since all flights were very busy and finding a place in the overhead compartment was not easy.

Dr Wan's suspicion was that they did not have enough space for our luggages because there was three groups of people in the airplane and each person on that group had lot of luggages and big ones. There were about 20 people that lost their luggages. However, people here work very slow. We waited for about an hour to get to the luggage service. We knew that they have another flight coming at 10:00pm. So we stopped for some dinner. Latter we found out that the flight got delayed until 11:00pm. The group did not wanted to wait because you needed to have "them" pick up the luggage from the carusel after all the passengers from the next flight claim theirs. Then we would go back and claim ours. So we are now at the church. They are going to deliver our luggage today "sometime" in the afternoon. However we are leaving for Barquisimeto today at 7:00am. So how are we going to get our luggages? Well, we will have to wait until Sunday when Daniel comes to Caracas and the travel by bus to Barquisimeto. So until then, we will have to figure out how to manage.

The church here is the "Iglesia Bautista China de Caracas". It is next to the presidential palace. They had five of their brothers and sisters pick us up at the airport. They are very nice and friendly people. The pastor's wife Ana is a fourth generation chinese here in Venezuela. But she still speaks very good Cantonese. Reason is that there is a large population of Cantonese speaking only people that are immigrants from China. Same with the other folks, they speak very good Cantonese even though they are second generation. This is a picture of their sanctuary downstairs.

Why am I typing this at 4:00am? I can't sleep for some reason. No, there are no bugs, the place is clean but no AC. I need to wake up in one hour to get ready to go to the bus terminal to go to Barquisimeto. Please pray for the rest of the trip. I am glad that Dr Wan had a talk with us Tuesday. He warned us to be "flexible" and be ready for plan changes, inconveniences or things that will not work well. Hope that we will be able to do God's will and that we can good team work.

Praise God that you guys arrived safely. Too bad some luggages are still missing. But you guys will share, right? :-)

Remember Acts 2:44-45?

Everyone of you is in my prayer.
